Snack Time?

What snack would you eat right now?

Nothing! It’s too daggoned early in the morning to think about snacks right now. I still have crust in my eyes, haven’t brushed my teeth yet , and am still in the bed. I’m not even hungry this early in the morning. Being awakened by my alarm clock literally makes me sick 😆.

Also, for some unknown reason, I stopped eating in the morning. Like, I involuntarily began intermittent fasting. And as far as snacks go, I really don’t buy them. I don’t know how. I didn’t grow up with a lot of snacks. My parents were focused on meals and food for school lunches. I had to go to my best friend’s house to get snacks. They always had the latest and greatest over there. Her dad used to drive for a snack company delivering joy all across the state.

Even the thought of buying snacks stresses me out. Especially the things my kids want. Have you looked at the ingredients on most snacks??? What are all them chemical compounds? I feel like I need a food scientist in my pocket to explain them to me. Is there an app for that? No, seriously. Is there? Please leave it in the comments.

I guess, for the sake of answering this prompt during Bloganuary and to pretend I have an appetite, I will say nachos and guacamole. But not just some store bought blend. It would have to be my own. Where the avacados aren’t mashed to a paste and where each ingredient ( red onions, cilantro, squeeze of lime or lemon, jalapeños, green onion and dash of seasoning) stand out on their own.

My guacamole and my salsa are crowd favorites. I wish these family members of mine would learn how to make it like I do. It’s the way I carefully dice up all the ingredients so you get a taste of everything in each scoop once blended together. My folks just don’t take the time for that. I do it with love. I guess they do it with a ‘it’s all going down and coming out the same place’ mindset.

Oh but there is another snack I would like. It’s a visual snack. I would love to feast my eyes on a strong handsome man who has taken the laundry from the dryer, folded it up and put it away instead of leaving it in the laundry cart to get wrinkled, creating more work for me because now I have to iron or put everything back in the dryer so that the wrinkles can fall out and they can be folded properly so they don’t have to be ironed when pulled out of the drawer.

(Yes, I know that was a heck of a run on sentence but read that without breathing and you will get my exasperation).

Anyway, thank you for reading. I don’t know how to end this one so I’m just going to hit publish. Besides, I need to go burn some calories. Not eat some.
