wHat In tHe RobOTExT hELl?!

LOOK AT THIS! Seriously, look at this mess!

I’m about to start a search party to find who the heck they’re talking to! And I know my social life is pretty dry, but this is not the type of action I’m seeking. Stop playing on my phone! Now, before you tell me to block the number, report them as junk, text back stop to end, I have done all of that. I feel like my replying stop has only made it worse. I was only getting one robotext a week and now it’s increased to like 7 a day some days. They’re just sending more messages from different numbers. I’m even getting fundraising texts for campaigns out of state.

This crap has gotten out of hand, it’s stalkerish and harassment since I have been unsuccessful at making it stop over the past 3 months. I am definitely voting this year, as I have almost always voted but this mess here this election cycle is making me want to check out. I know part of that is be design, voter apathy and all. I for one am sick of attack campaign ads, broken promises just to be elected, and the overall fear mongering messaging. So when I turn away from media to get a break, I don’t want it coming to my phone. It’s way too invasive and aggressive.

Robotext Stranger Danger

My number has been on the National Do Not Call Registry since 2004 so it’s not that. I have researched why I’m getting these darned texts and apparently they say your number is attached to your voter registration (mine is not, I looked it up for my state) or data brokers pull your information from public records. But people, please go to Can I Vote? to check your voter registration status, register to vote, find your polling place and other useful information.

Lastly, if you feel you are exhausted from trying any of the methods I mentioned you can always File a complaint with the FCC.
